Histology II focuses on the description of special histology (microscopic structure of organs) with stress on microscopic differential diagnosis. Embryology II includes detailed description of the development of head and neck region and organs belonging to the orofacial region (incl. a brief review of developmental anomalies), and the teeth development.
Entry requirements: pre-requisites: passed Histology and Embryology I
Outcomes (subject Histology and Embryology I):
1. the student acquires theoretical knowledge of the structure of the normal organs at the level of light and electron microscopy
2. the student acquires the practical knowledge necessary for differential diagnosis for the identification of the human organs at the level of light microscopy
3. the student acquires theoretical knowledge of the development of head and neck region and organs belonging to the orofacial region (incl. a brief review of developmental anomalies), and the teeth development

Credit terms (for details see our information on Moodle): It is essential to participate in all practical courses and pass all the ongoing (written) tests, oral slide (seminary) tests, and test in Orofacial region. The arithmetic mean of all marks received in each semester must not be worse than 3.0 - with particular stress on results of slide (seminary) tests (which have to be "passed"). Credit test is always oral - examination of all slides passed throughout each semester + theory (more detailed knowledge than for seminary examination); general histology is tested always! Final exam comprises practical part and theoretical part. The Final exam starts with the slide e-test (you must achieve at least 60% of points), in case of the 2nd retake, the slides are tested orally using the Smart Zoom. If student passes the practical part, the theoretical part (3 questions) followes. The examination of theoretical part starts with the question from part II – Orofacial and neck region.
