The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic dental materials - cements, composite materials, dental ceramics, alloys, auxiliary materials and imprinting materials, including materials for 3D printing - their composition, preparation and use in practice. Students first try to prepare the material in the laboratory to know how important it is to observe the time, the ratio of components, etc. This is followed by a series of practices in the phantom laboratory, where the student must master the placement of rubber dam, the preparation of cavities and their filling with various materials and imprinting. This is followed by a practice focused on digital processes in the production of a model (digital processing, 3D printing with subsequent modification of the printed model.
Learning outcomes:
1. the student acquires a basic idea of dental materials,
2. the student acquires practical skills while working on models in a phantom laboratory,
3. the student will be able to
- mix different types of materials used in the dental office,
- put on kofferdam,
- make composite fillings III. AND IV. Class and GIC filler class II,
- imprint the upper and lower jaw,
- to produce a working model using a digital process.
