Credit Conditions to obtain the credit include: 1) attendance of all practical lessons (obligatory) 2) Preparing a case study and presenting it during the last seminar Morning seminars are also obligatory. Students may replace a missed practical lesson by attending the class with another group given that the teacher has been informed beforehand and that it does not collide with another class they might have. Not following safety regulation rules may lead to the student being excluded from practical classes Participation in an exam from another subject is not an excuse! Notes I. Morning seminars: The first part of every practical lesson is dedicated to a selected topic, namely differential diagnosis and standard treatment regimens. These topics are presented by pediatric specialists. II. Practical lessons: The students should come prepared for the lessons. During practical lessons the students examine the patients individually and then present their findings to their group. Students are obliged to ask in case of any doubts or problems and should actively take part in the discussion of the cases. During the course of the 5th year, students will encounter a broad spectrum of pediatric cases. III. Interactive seminars (winter term): According to the schedule, students must prepare for and study the selected topics which will be discussed in the group. A special emphasis is given to urgent situations and emergencies in Pediatrics. IV. Case preparation and presentation: Students will obtain e-learning materials and a manual about how to prepare a PowerPoint presentation of a case study at the beginning of the term. V. Credit: 1. Morning seminars, practical lessons and case presentation/ active participation in discussions are necessary to obtain the credit. 2. Missing practical classes could be replaced following agreement with the teacher: a) individually b) with another group. 3. 1 absence per semester is tolerated with replacement by an essay.
