The subject is concieved as theoretical and practical, describes the system of nursing care in the Czech republic (process, diagnosis, interventions), the patient needs and holistic approaches to health care. Part of the seminar is also training practical nursing skills on models.

Aim of the course
Learning goals of the subject:
Students acquire the theoretical knowledge necessary to perform basic and specialized nursing procedures.
Students are able to perform nursing procedures correctly.
Students are able to maintain aseptic approaches during nursing procedures.
Students learn the principles of an individualized and holistic approach to patients during simulated situations.

Requirements to the exam
Students have to come prepared for each seminar - Moodle course: Basis for Patient Care.
At the beginning of each seminar, the student must successfully complete a test in Moodle with a score of at least 70%.
Credit:
successful completion of all partial tests during the semester
100 % attendance at practical classes
4-hour excursion at University Hospital Hradec Kralove
4 hours of practical training in patient care on models in the model room - presentation of all professional skills
Exam:
Written verification of theoretical knowledge – exam test in Moodle
