Anotace

The course follows the course "Internal Medicine I". Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic chapters of the internal medicine and to present the latest news in this clinical field. Emphasis is also placed on the manifestations of individual diseases in the musculoskeletal system. Selected typical patients in relation to subsequent physiotherapy will also be demonstrated.

Cíl předmětu

Learning Outcomes:

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and general competencies so that after the completion of the course the students:

• demonstrate knowledge and are able to describe the etiology, pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of endocrine, metabolic, rheumatological, cardiovascular, respiratory and geriatric diseases

• are equipped with basic knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in endocrine, metabolic, rheumatological, cardiovascular, respiratory and geriatric diseases

• demonstrate a basic orientation in imaging methods and laboratory methods used internally

• understand the principles of management of medical intensive care

Sylabus

1. Cardiology. Introduction. Examination methods. Heart failure, coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, angina pectoris.

2. Heart defects congenital and acquired.

3. Pericarditis, myocarditis, cardiomyopathy, hypertension.

4. Pulmonary embolism, shock, syncope, angiology - diseases of arteries and veins.

5. Gastroenterology - introduction, examination methods, diseases of esophagus, stomach - gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, bowel diseases, rectal diseases.

6. Diseases of liver, biliary tract and pancreas - introduction.

7. Jaundice, cholestasis, portal hypertension, liver insufficiency, inflammation of the liver, liver cirrhosis, gallstones, inflammation of the gallbladder and biliary tract, diseases of the pancreas.

8. Hematology - introduction, examination methods.

9. Anemia, polycytemic conditions, bone marrow depression, leukemia (introduction).

10. Leukemia (completion), malignant lymphomas, Hodgkin's disease, monoclonal gammopathy - myeloma. Haemorrhages - haemophilia, platelet disorders, vascular bleeding.

11. Immunology - types of immunity, examination methods in clinical immunology, immunodeficiency, hypersensitivity, tumors growing from cells of the immune system, immunotherapy.

12. Disorders of internal environment - introduction, examination methods, dehydration, disorders of electrolyte management, disorders of acid-base balance.

13. -14. Poisoning, illnesses due to physical causes - radiation sickness, damage by heat, cold, el. current.
