Cíl předmětu -
1. Znalost (Remember)
Studenti si dokážou zapamatovat hlavní představitele a díla starokřesťanské literatury od 1. do začátku 4. století.
Studenti dokážou vyjmenovat klíčové teologické koncepty spojené s jednotlivými autory (např. Justina, Ireneje, Tertulliana, Cypriána).
Studenti si dokážou vybavit historický a kulturní kontext vzniku starokřesťanských textů.
2. Porozumění (Understand)
Studenti dokážou vysvětlit základní témata patristické teologie a jejich vztah k raným christologickým a trinitárním debatám.
Studenti dokážou popsat různé literární žánry starokřesťanské literatury (např. apologetika, exegetická literatura, martyria).
Studenti dokážou interpretovat význam klíčových teologických textů v kontextu jejich doby.
3. Aplikace (Apply)
Studenti dokážou použít základní metody patristického výzkumu při analýze primárních textů.
Studenti dokážou aplikovat patristické myšlenky při zkoumání historických a současných teologických debat.
Studenti dokážou převést teoretické znalosti do praxe při tvorbě vlastních analýz a komentářů ke starokřesťanským textům.
4. Analýza (Analyse)
Studenti dokážou rozlišit hlavní teologické směry raného křesťanství a jejich vztah k soudobým heretickým hnutím.
Studenti dokážou porovnat různé teologické argumenty v textech vybraných autorů (např. Justina a Ireneje ve vztahu k gnosticismu).
Studenti dokážou analyzovat strukturu a argumentační postupy raně křesťanských děl.
5. Hodnocení (Evaluate)
Studenti dokážou kriticky zhodnotit význam patristických textů pro formování rané křesťanské teologie.
Studenti dokážou posoudit, jak patristické myšlení ovlivnilo další vývoj křesťanského učení.
Studenti dokážou zhodnotit různé interpretace raně křesťanských textů v současném akademickém diskurzu.
6. Tvorba (Create)
Studenti dokážou sestavit analytickou práci na téma vybraného autora nebo teologického konceptu rané církve.
Studenti dokážou vytvořit anotaci a komentář k vybraným starokřesťanským textům.
Studenti dokážou navrhnout kritickou úpravu nebo rozšíření akademických zdrojů týkajících se patrologie.

Students will be able to remember the main figures and works of early Christian literature from the 1st to the early 4th century.
Students will be able to list key theological concepts associated with individual authors (e.g., Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Cyprian).
Students will be able to recall the historical and cultural context in which early Christian texts emerged.
2. Comprehension (Understand)
Students will be able to explain the fundamental themes of patristic theology and their relation to early Christological and Trinitarian debates.
Students will be able to describe the different literary genres of early Christian literature (e.g., apologetics, exegetical literature, martyrdom accounts).
Students will be able to interpret the significance of key theological texts in the context of their time.
3. Application (Apply)
Students will be able to apply basic methods of patristic research when analysing primary texts.
Students will be able to use patristic ideas when examining historical and contemporary theological debates.
Students will be able to translate theoretical knowledge into practice by producing their own analyses and commentaries on early Christian texts.
4. Analysis (Analyse)
Students will be able to distinguish major theological trends in early Christianity and their relation to contemporary heretical movements.
Students will be able to compare different theological arguments in texts by selected authors (e.g., Justin Martyr and Irenaeus in relation to Gnosticism).
Students will be able to analyse the structure and argumentative techniques of early Christian works.
5. Evaluation (Evaluate)
Students will be able to critically assess the significance of patristic texts for the formation of early Christian theology.
Students will be able to evaluate how patristic thought influenced the further development of Christian doctrine.
Students will be able to assess different interpretations of early Christian texts in contemporary academic discourse.
6. Creation (Create)
Students will be able to produce an analytical paper on a selected early Christian author or theological concept.
Students will be able to create an annotation and commentary on selected early Christian texts.
Students will be able to propose critical revisions or expansions of academic resources related to patristics.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu -
Závěrečné hodnocení studenta při zkoušce se skládá z následujícího:
aktivní zapojení při výuce a příprava textů autora domluveného s vyučujícím pro společnou četbu v rámci kurzu (30%);
tři krátké práce shrnující obsah a teologii starokřesťanských spisů, každá o rozsahu min. 3 NS dle úzu prací KTF:
jedna věnovaná jednomu spisu z období apoštolských otců,
druhá věnovaná jednomu spisu z období apologetů,
třetí věnovaná novozákonnímu apokryfu či martyrologickému spisu (celkem 30%).
ústní zkouška na základě povinné literatury vč. zhodnocení odevzdaných prací (40%).

The final mark consists of the following:
the active participation during lectures and preparation of Patristic texts for the reading in class (30%),
three short papers on the content and theology of ancient Christian text; each of them at least 5,400 chars long:
first, on a writing from the period of Apostolic Fathers;
second, on a writing from the period of the Apologists;
third, on a New Testament apocryphon or a martyrological text (30%).
oral exam based upon the indicated bibliography and evaluation of the above-mentioned papers (40%).
