Základní orientací semináře je akademická angličtina jako lingua franca (ELFA) Seminář je zaměřen na rozvoj
akademických kompetencí v anglickém jazyce. Předpokládaná úroveň jazyka je minimálně B1–B2 dle evropského
referenčního rámce (posluchač semináře by měl být schopen s pomocí slovníku porozumět delšímu textu a
aktivně se účastnit diskuzí).
Výkladové teoretické části (cca 20 %) v českém jazyce. 80% interaktivního obsahu semináře v anglickém jazyce.
Student má v rámci povinně volitelných předmětů povinnost zapsat si jednu z dvojice předmětů: buď Akademická
angličtina 1 a 2, či Odborná němčina 1 a 2.

The basic orientation of the seminar is Academic English as a Lingua Franca (ELFA) The seminar focuses on developing
academic competencies in the English language. The expected level of the language is at least B1–B2 according to the European reference framework
(the seminar participant should be able to understand a longer text with the help of a dictionary and
actively participate in the discussions).
80% of the interactive content of the seminar is in English.
As part of the compulsory electives, the student is required to enroll in one of a pair of courses: either Academic
English 1 and 2 or Professional German 1 and 2.

Cíl předmětu -
Cílem předmětu je rozvoj akademických kompetencí v anglickém jazyce pro obor filosofie.
Během letního semestru a na jeho konci by studenti měli být schopni číst (pochopit a analyzovat) akademické texty týkající se specifických otázek a: 1) ústně prezentovat své odborné téma se všemi náležitostmi (struktura, kontext, argumentace, jazykové prostředky). 2) akademické psaní: rozlišovat mezi neformálním a formálním stylem, používat jazykové prostředky relativizující jednoznačná tvrzení a znát jazykové typy používané v akademických pracích: popis, vyprávění, definice, exemplifikace, klasifikace, srovnání a kontrast, příčina a následek, zobecnění, výklad, parafrázování + shrnutí, citace a odkazování (...) a aktivně používat různé jazykové výrazy (pro 3 typy argumentace. a/nebo/ale) 3) znát a rozlišovat strukturu a požadavky na akademickou práci: vypracovat návrh seminární práce. 4) diskutovat o tématech, která budou zpracovávána v rámci domácí přípravy (tj. na základě pracovních listů: filozofie ve společensko-historickém kontextu a vybraná teologická a etická témata v současném postmoderním kontextu). 5) prokázat porozumění poslechu

The aim of the course is to develop academic competences in English for the fields of Philosophy.
During and by the end of the summer term, students shouldbe able to read (cover or analyze) academic texts concerning the specific needs, and: 1) orally present their professional topic with all the requisites (structure, context, argumentation, linguistic devices) 2) academic writing: distinguish between informal and formal style, usecautious language, and be familiar with language types for academic papers: description, narrative, definitions, exemplification, classification, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, generalization, interpretation, paraphrasing, summarising, quotation and referencing (...) and master various linguistic expressions (for 3 types: and/or/but) 3) know and distinguish the structure and requirements of an academic paper: produce a draft of a seminar paper 4) discuss the topics to be worked on in the home preparation (i.e. based on the worksheets: philosophy in a socio-historical context and selected theological and ethical topics in a contemporary postmodern context) 5) demonstrate listening comprehension

100% - 70% splnění požadavků, které upřesní vyučující.
Kvalitně zpracované a včas prezentované/odevzdané všechny zadané pracovní listy: 35% Strukturovaná prezentace: 25% Závěrečný projekt (návrh seminární práce) a úspěšně absolvované kolokvium: min. 20% – max. 40%. Poznámka: otázky ke kolokviu se budou týkat tematických worksheetů, akademického psaní a prezentací (a návrhu seminární práce).

Nejméně v 50% výuky bude používána metoda "flipped classroom", tj. studenti se samostatně připraví vypracováním zadaných úkolů na práci v hodině. Výsledky učení podléhají kontrole.
