Cílem kurzu je zpřístupnit studentům podstatné významové struktury křesťanství, jeho vnitřní myšlenkové a duchovní obsahy (spíše než jen historii či sociologické aspekty). Vodítkem nám jsou konstantní složky starokřesťanských verzí tzv. kréda, a to na pozadí biblických zdrojů a ve světle tradičních i současných interpretací. Student dále získá vhled do smyslu křesťanské ortopraxe, zejména étosu a spirituality. Celkově tak získá hlubší základy pro posouzení inspirujícího a dialogického potenciálu křesťanství v kontextu dnešní společnosti.

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the essential meaning structures of Christianity, its inner thought and spiritual content (rather than just the history or sociological aspects). We are guided by the constant components of the ancient Christian versions of the so-called creed, against the background of biblical sources and in light of traditional and contemporary interpretations. The student will also gain insight into the meaning of Christian orthopraxy, especially ethos and spirituality. Overall, the student will gain a deeper foundation for assessing the inspirational and dialogical potential of Christianity in the context of today's society.
