Cílem kurzu je zajistit pevné základy funkční, farmaceutické a lékařské angličtiny a podpořit budoucí studium studentů v akademické angličtině v souvislosti se studiem farmacie v angličtině. Kurz se zaměřuje a rozšiřuje základní oblasti gramatiky B2/C1, čtení a poslechu s porozuměním, odborné farmaceutické terminologie se zaměřením na standardní formy vhodné pro formální mluvenou a psanou angličtinu. Kurz také poskytuje základy frázování v akademické angličtině, srozumitelnou výslovnost a využití angličtiny v dalším studiu studentů. Kurz zohledňuje různorodé vzdělání studentů a snaží se vyrovnat případné mezery v základních znalostech anglického jazyka.

The aim of the course is to ensure a solid grounding in functional English, aiming to support students’ future endeavors in academic English due to studying Pharmacy in English. The course reviews and extends essential areas of B2/C1 grammar, reading and listening comprehension, professional pharmaceutical terminology, with a focus on standard forms suitable for formal spoken and written English. The course also provides a basic grounding in academic English phrasing, the correct pronunciation, and the use of English in students’ further studies. The course considers the students’ varied educational backgrounds and attempts to balance out any gaps in essential knowledge of English language.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu -
Kurz anglického jazyka pro farmaceuty probíhá ve dvou semestrech 1. ročníku studia. Po úspěšném složení obou zápočtových zkoušek - 70% úspěšnost (zápočtové testy se píší po každém semestru) by měli studenti při závěrečné zkoušce prokázat znalost anglické gramatiky, odborné lékařské a farmaceutické terminologie, porozumění textu a jazykových struktur.
POŽADAVKY NA ZÁPOČET:
Aktivní účast na seminářích (75%)
Aktivní domácí příprava na semináře Úspěšné absolvování (70 %) písemného zápočtového testu (gramatika, slovosled, konjugace, deklinace, fráze, slovní zásoba a idiomy, překlad, čtení a psaní s porozuměním).
Závěrečná zkouška se skládá ze dvou částí:
a) písemný test zaměřený na gramatiku, slovní zásobu, odbornou terminologii, fráze, čtení s porozuměním
b) ústní zkouška zaměřená na odbornou diskusi v rámci oboru farmacie.

English Language for Pharmacists Course takes place during two semesters of the 1st year of study. Having passed successfully both credit examinations - 70% pass mark (credit tests written after each semester), students should prove their knowledge of English grammar, special medical and pharmaceutical terminology, reading comprehension and linguistic structures at the final examination.
CREDIT REQUIREMENTS:
Active seminar attendance (75%)
Active home preparation for the seminars
Pass successfully (70%) written credit test (grammar, word order, conjugation, declination, phrases, vocabulary and idioms, translation, reading and writing comprehension)
The final exam consists of two parts:
a) written test focused on grammar, vocabulary, professional terminology, phrases, reading comprehension
b) oral examination focused on talking about one of the topics included in syllabus and presenting thorough knowledge of professional phrases, pharmaceutical and medical terminology, the most important grammatical principles.

Metody výuky -
Výuka probíhá jednou týdně formou dvouhodinového semináře (90 minut). V zimním i letním semestru se koná 28 lekcí (celkem 56). Součástí lekcí v obou semestrech jsou opravné a kontrolní testy. Oba semestry jsou zakončeny písemným zápočtovým testem. Závěrečná zkouška se koná po získání zimního i letního zápočtu.

The lessons take place once a week in the form of a two-hour seminar (90 minutes). There are 28 lessons both While in winter and summer semester. The lessons in both semesters include revisions and control tests. Both semesters are concluded by a written credit test. The final exam might be taken after the students have acquired both winter and summer credits.

POŽADAVKY KE ZKOUŠCE Z ANGLICKÉHO JAZYKA PRO FARMACEUTY
Studijní program: Farmacie
Anglický jazyk pro farmaceuty je povinný předmět se závěrečnou zkouškou, která se skládá na konci druhého semestru v prvním ročníku studia. Doba trvání předmětu jsou 2 semestry. Studenti si musí předmět Anglický jazyk pro farmaceuty zapsat pouze na celý rok, to znamená na oba semestry v 1. ročníku studia.
POŽADAVKY KE ZKOUŠCE:
Studenti budou psát test, který prověří jejich znalosti gramatiky, slovní zásoby, čtení s porozuměním...
Pro úspěšné složení testu je potřeba 70 %.
Při ústní části zkoušky budou studenti hovořit na jedno z témat obsažených v sylabu a budou prezentovat své znalosti odborných frází, farmaceutické a lékařské terminologie, nejdůležitějších gramatických zásad.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EXAMINATION IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE FOR PHARMACISTS
Study programme: Pharmacy
English Language for Pharmacists is a compulsory subject with a final exam taken at the end of the second semester in the first year of study. Duration of the course is 2 semesters. Students must register for the course of English Language for Pharmacists only for the whole year, it means for both semesters in the 1st year of study.
EXAM REQUIREMENTS:
The students will write a test checking their knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension...
For successful passing the test 70% is needed.
At the oral part of the exam the students will talk about one of the topics included in syllabus and they will present their knowledge of professional phrases, pharmaceutical and medical terminology, the most important grammatical principles.

Výsledky učení - angličtina
During the seminars, students will deepen their knowledge of English at the intermediate to advanced level (level B2 -C1 according to the EJP).
Learning outcomes:
The learner will build on the knowledge and skills acquired:
master a myriad of vocabulary and terminology, including all grammatical structures in English
will be able to communicate at both standard and professional level
will be able to speak about his/her specialisation in the field of Pharmacy
