The optitional subject consists of a set of lectures and case reports on the most important symptoms and diseases in
travelers traveling to tropical regions. During the course, students will learn how to approach a patient who has returned
from tropical regions, what is the incidence of diseases in individual regions, about the symptoms of these diseases and
about differential diagnosis. Part of the course is also devoted to pre-travel counseling, where vaccination, antimalarial
prophylaxis, travel first aid kits and travel insurance will be discussed.

The student will understand the issue of pre-travel counseling to tropical regions. The student is able to analyse the risks associated with traveling to tropical regions.
