Metodologická praktika poskytují studentům příležitost procvičit a prohloubit aplikaci principů vědeckého uvažování při práci s psychologickými poznatky a postupy. Těžištěm kurzu je rozvoj dovedností spojených s evidence-based přístupem – od formulace výzkumných otázek přes systematické vyhledávání, kritické hodnocení a syntézu literatury až po prezentaci závěrů formou odborné prezentace a závěrečné výzkumné zprávy. Významná pozornost je věnována metodám rychlých a systematických přehledů (rapid evidence assessment, systematické review, metaanalýzy) a jejich využitelnosti pro kvalifikované rozhodování v psychologické praxi.
Cílem předmětu je rozvoj kritického myšlení, schopnosti odlišovat vědecky podložená tvrzení od názorů či anekdotických zkušeností a dovednosti aplikovat psychologické poznatky v praxi, která často nedodržuje standardy akademické formulace a ověřování tvrzení. Diskutovány budou i etické aspekty evidence-based praxe a způsoby práce s kontroverzními oblastmi psychologie, kde se odborná stanoviska mohou významně lišit.
Obsah kurzu navazuje na základní koncepty představené v předmětu Psychologická metodologie a dále je rozšiřuje: definice pojmů – odbornou a neodbornou terminologii a její posouzení; tvrzení a teorie; testování hypotéz; reliabilitu a validitu metod sběru dat; experimenty a kvaziexperimenty; postupy systematické rešerše; rapid evidence assessment; přehledové studie a metaanalýzy; etické otázky diagnostiky a intervence.

The methodological practicum provides students with an opportunity to practice and deepen the application of principles of scientific reasoning in working with psychological knowledge and methods. The core of the course lies in developing skills associated with an evidence-based approach – from formulating research questions, through systematic searching, critical appraisal, and synthesis of the literature, to presenting conclusions in the form of professional presentations and a final research report. Particular attention is devoted to methods of rapid and systematic reviews (rapid evidence assessment, systematic reviews, meta-analyses) and their applicability to informed decision-making in psychological practice.
The aim of the course is to foster critical thinking, the ability to distinguish scientifically grounded claims from opinions or anecdotal experiences, and the skills needed to apply psychological knowledge in practice, which often does not adhere to academic standards of formulating, verifying, and presenting claims. Ethical aspects of evidence-based practice will also be discussed, along with approaches to controversial areas of psychology where expert positions may differ significantly.
The course builds on key concepts introduced in the course Psychological Methodology and further expands them: definitions of terms – professional and non-professional terminology and their evaluation; claims and theories; hypothesis testing; reliability and validity of data collection methods; experiments and quasi-experiments; systematic literature search procedures; rapid evidence assessment; review studies and meta-analyses; ethical issues of diagnostics and intervention.
