The course is accredited by KU Leuven. Course leader: Prof. Mike McNamee (KU Leuven).
Doping and Anti Doping Policy are among the most contentious issues in the world of sport. This module critically presents the history of doping and WADA, nature of anti doping rule violations, their justification, and highlights key ethical problems such as harmonization, strict liability, therapeutic use exemption.
This module will develop a critical awareness of the need for anti doping policy in the governance of sports, to recognize ethical problems for both athletes and anti doping organizations, and to develop a critical appreciation for World Anti Doping Agency’s rationale and its effectiveness.
