Aim of the course

  1. Student will obtain basic theoretical knowledge about dental materials.
  2. Student becomes familiar with office and laboratory procedures of fixed and removable prosthetic restorations fabrication.
  3. Student will obtain basic knowlegde about digital technology used in prosthetic dentistry.
  4. Student will obtain basic practical skills in fabrication of fixed and removable dentures.

Credit

  1. Attendance 100 % in practical classes.
  2. Achieve at least 80 % from all practical works evaluated.
  3. Achieve at least 80 % of all minor tests. When at least 90 % achieved, student don´t have to take the credit test. When less than 80 % achieved, oral examination will be used to test the level of student´s knowledges (2nd and 3rd attempt).
  4. Achieve at least 80 % of credit test. One re-take test with threshold 80% (2nd attempt), oral examination (3rd attempt).

Note: In order to fulfill the content of the practical classes, Frasaco teeth with preparations  (26 – cast crown, 24 – composite onlay, 21 – long wrap veneer, 11 – provisional crown, 13 – PFM crown) are required within the subject of Preclinical Dentistry. Entry to the phantom laboratory is possible in white work clothes / coat and slippers. The student is obliged to follow the safety instructions, to use protective glasses when working with the micromotor. Eating and drinking are prohibited in the phantom laboratory.
