1. To acquire adequate professional knowledge of:

• dental caries (aetiology and diagnostics),
• prevention of dental caries,
• non-cariogenic defects of hard dental tissues (aetiology, diagnostics),
• dental microbial plaque and its role in oral diseases,
• periodontal diseases (classification, diagnostics),
• smoking and oral diseases,
• periodontal diseasesand their relation to general health.

2. To learn basic practical skills in the given field.

6. Fluorides in caries prevention. Metabolism and mechanism of action. Toxicity of fluorides. (Koberova Ivancakova 3)
