Teaching practice at a lower secondary school should provide student teachers with first experience with teaching and create and deepen their didactic skills in the teaching of mathematics. Reflections of their lessons with the help of a mentor teacher should develop students' self-reflective skills. They should get to know their conceptions of teaching, their strong and weak points as teachers. Teaching practice is an important part of the didactic education of student teachers. Materials they will produce during the teaching practice will become part of their portfolio and will be used in mathematics education courses.
