The goal of the course is to ensure a closer link between the university education of future teachers and their teaching practice. The students will be assigned to an experienced practising teacher at a primary or secondary school with whom they will cooperate during the semester. This cooperation might consists in helping the teacher with the preparation of lessons, their teaching (so called tandem teaching) and reflection. If the students themselves teach mathematics, they can fulfil the course at their school in cooperation with an experienced colleague. The following activities can be part of the course: Tutoring in mathematics at the school or outside it. Tandem teaching of mathematics with an experienced colleague. Assistance in the teaching of this colleague. Preparation of teaching aids. Organisation of a mathematical competition at the school. Trialling teaching material prepared with the course of mathematics education. Collecting records of pupils' frequent mistakes. Other activities are possible after consulting the course leader. There is a Moodle course where the students discuss their activities.
