The course provides a basic orientation in the psychological concepts of talent and intelligence, emphasizes the importance of perception of individuality of the student and his diagnosis. The special-pedagogical aspect clarifies the possibilities of support measures at school within the framework of joint education. The didactic perspective brings methods of working with gifted students within the regular class. Furthermore, professional competitions and extracurricular and leisure activities focused on the development of talents are presented. 1. Introduction to the topic - concepts, theories of intelligence 2. Characteristics of the gifted children 3. Emotional and social characteristics of the gifted children and the myths that are spread about the topic in society 4. Family and leisure time of the gifted children, possible problems and how to prevent them 5. Types of gifted children 6. Identification of the gifted, talented children 7. Approach and intervention - methods applicable in the school environment 8. Gifted children at school - the specifics of teaching a gifted child 9. Appropriate organizational forms of work with a heterogeneous group. Individualization and personalization of teaching, layered learning tasks, basic and extended curriculum. 10. Motivation of gifted children 11. Situation in the Czech Republic, legislation, possibilities of gifted pupil education in our environment 12.
