The course motivates the students to deepen their linguistic knowledge, to cultivate their stylistic sensitivity and to enhance their interpretive skills. The students actively co-construct the syllabus. Established on home preparation, the seminar activities combine diverse approaches to text and discourse, which stresses interdisciplinarity. Themes: 1.Introduction – instruments and objectives of linguistic interpretation of texts and discourse 2.Analyzing samples of fiction, poetry and/or drama 3.Analyzing samples of academic, legal and/or political discourse 4.Analyzing samples of newspaper, magazine and/or advertising discourse 5.Analyzing samples of textbooks, manuals, guidebooks and/or simplified texts (graded readers) 6.(To be suggested by students themselves)
