The aim of the course is to introduce students to the specific features of fiction, poetry and drama, as well as to familiarize them with the basic terms and categories of literary studies, which are illustrated with a selection of texts from Anglo-American literature (short poems, short stories, extracts). The main focus is put on development of the students’ ability to analyse the texts from the point of view of their formal structure. Themes: 1. Definition of literature 2.
