An objective of the course is to enable students:(a) to acquaint with various ways of the qualitative research (anchored theory, narrative telling and stories, classical ethnography, ..),(b) to understand various procedures of the qualitative research and to be able to consider all pros and cons of each of these methods compared with the traditional quantitative methods,(c) to understand which research questions are suitable to apply qualitative research to find the corresponding answers,(d) to learn various methods of the qualitative data gaining (i.e. individual/common interview; pedagogical diaries; reflections report, ...) and to understand weaknesses of each of the approaches,(e) to know how to organize data (using tables for instance) and to be able to find various possibilities of a conclusion deduction,(f) to understand opportunities and limits of an action research, (g) to familiarize with possibilities of using of combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods in an action research.Students study will be directed towards processing of tenable and realizable project of qualitative or action research related to the topic of the student's dissertation. It is necessary to exactly give a way of gaining, summarization and analysis of qualitative data. The project must be discussed and defended in the final workshop.

1) the aproaches of the qualitative research (anchored theory, narrative telling and stories, classical ethnography, ..),
2) procedures in the qualitative research, their pros and cons compared with the traditional quantitative methods,
3) research questions suitable to apply the qualitative research to find the corresponding answers,
4) various methods of the qualitative data gaining (i.e. individual/common interview; pedagogical diaries; reflections report, ...), weaknesses of each of the approaches,
5) data processing (using tables for instance), various possibilities of a conclusion deduction,
6) opportunities and limits of an action research,
7) possibilities of using of combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods in an action research.
8) final workshop, defenses of projects.
