The aim of the course is to introduce students to basic assumptions, methodological foundations and specific methods of social science investigation. The course is focused on the genesis of the origins of social science in the 19th century and their connections to current social phenomena, and theoretical or practical need as a consequence of historical development of society. Course outline: 1. The difference between theoretical attitude and natural attitude (theoria a empeiria). 2. The relation between philosophy and science. 3. The history of the formation of science and scientific cognition. 4. The difference between social and exact science. 5. Objectification and ideation in social sciences, the conceptual system of science and argumentation. 6. Methods of scientific cognition in social sciences, the essentials of epistemology.
