Basic terms: word and lexeme (as "dictionary entry"). Word: an orthographic, phonological, lexical, grammatical unit. Lexical semantics. Grammatical words; clitics: neither words nor affixes. Morphs and morphemes: choice among allomorphs. Formal typology of word-formation (derivology) as a part of lexicology. Basic notion of word formation: foundation and motivation. Concept of onomasiological category (OC) and the classifiaction of OCs. Formation of new naming units and its means. Concepts of the word-formative type, word-formative type, word-formative category, and of productiveness. Morphological and word-formative structure of the word, and morphological and word-formative analysis. Lexicography: field of applied linguistics. Types of dictionaries. Scope of idiomatics. Functions of idioms: structural and nominative.
