Annotation -
Students get knowledge of experimental methods of optics, quantum optics and optoelectronics. They solve experimental problems in laboratories of Faculty of Mathematics and Physics using up-to-date experimental facilities. The visit also selected laboratories of institutes of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (Institute of Physics, Institute of Photonics and Electronics).
Last update: Malý Petr, prof. RNDr., DrSc. (02.05.2019)
Aim of the course -

The goal of the practical seminar is the completion and extension of the knowledge about the methods of the preparation of semiconductors and their characterization. Students obtain overview about some out of faculty research activities.

Course completion requirements -

Classified credit. Some tasks are carried out in the form of an excursion, others in the form of measurements in the laboratory. For some tasks, it is necessary to submit measurement protocols, which will be graded. At the end of the practical course, it is necessary to draw up a separate protocol from the selected problem. In order to obtain credit, two absences from intern tasks are accepted.

Last update: Belas Eduard, prof. Ing., CSc. (06.06.2023)
Literature -

Before solving each task, students receive instructions for solving the task with the indicated literature.

Last update: Belas Eduard, prof. Ing., CSc. (06.06.2023)
Teaching methods -

Some tasks are carried out in the form of excursions, others in the form of measurements in the laboratory at faculty and non-faculty workplaces.

Last update: Belas Eduard, prof. Ing., CSc. (06.06.2023)
Syllabus -

Solving of experimental problems in the field of optics, quantum optics and optoelectronics. Excursion at selected experimental facilities of institutes of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (e.g., calibration of semiconductor detector, investigation of nonlinear optical phenomena, femtosecond laser spectroscopy, measurement of photoconductivity, introduction to semiconductor technology, investigation of surfaces and thin films).
