Annotation -
The aims of the seminar are to describe the principles of museology and gallery practice together with the creation of exhibition curatorial concepts. In addition to the theoretical background in the field of art history, the work of art historians in memory institutions, collecting institutions, and the so-called "kunsthalle" is also very important. The seminar is devoted to the analysis of the curatorial concept of the current exhibition. It is not a guided tour, but an analysis and critical evaluation of the theoretical background of the exhibition concept, the success of its application in realization, the visual aspects of the exhibition and accompanying publications, the quality of accompanying programs, PR evaluation, public communication with the institution. During joint analyzes directly in exhibitions, there will be a mutual comparison and reveal of the specific "role" of the curator in the preparation of the exhibition. Permanent exhibitions of prominent Czech museums and galleries as well as contemporary temporary exhibitions will be selected. The selection of exhibitions will not be limited and limited, it will be exhibitions of old, modern, and contemporary art. We then evaluate the exhibitions in the form of a Grand Prix curatorial concept.
