The logbook must also include the doctor's name, a large stamp, and his signature from all the clinics where you complete your internship. Without a properly filled out and confirmed logbook, it will not be possible to grant you credit.

Familiarization with the practical provision of care in surgical fields in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, operating rooms and ICU.

You must complete the internship according to the approved Schedule of the academic year 2023/2024 during the summer holidays from June 17 2024 to September 8 2024.

Arrange your summer internship individually at a hospital.

Students interested in an internship at the FN HK surgical department must first submit an internship application. In the application, provide your basic identification details, specific dates you are interested in (you may choose multiple dates if they suit you), and your preferred specialty, if any. Also, attach a short motivational letter explaining why you think you should be given priority over other applicants. The following 2-week rotations are available: June 17-28; July 1-12; July 15-26; July 29-August 9; August 12-23; August 26-September 6, 2024. Do not forget to specify which dates you prefer. Send applications electronically by March 15, 2024, to the Department of Surgery's email katchir@lfhk.cuni.cz. Students will be selected based on the information in the motivational letter, considering their academic results and any extracurricular academic activities. By April 3, 2024, you will be informed whether your internship at FN HK is possible.

Everything has to be filled into your white index (Report of Completed Practices), not on the separate papers!

If you would like to do the practice ABROAD, you have to get Summer Practice Consent signed (two copies are required, signed by both sides - host hospital and our faculty hospital) and provide the secretary of particular department with them at latest one month before the practice starts. Any late application will not be accepted. If you do not provide the above mentioned documents in time your practice will not be recognized. If it is required abroad please provide the responsible person there with a copy of Head's letter and have everything needed filled into your white index.

Pay attention to correctly filling out the logbook. Every mandatory or recommended procedure should be recorded with the specified date and the name of the doctor who performed it with you. It especially depends on your activity to complete all the mandatory and as many recommended procedures as possible during your internship, actively and proactively arrange with your mentors. The logbook must also include the doctor's name, a large stamp, and his signature from all the clinics where you complete your practice. Without a properly filled out and confirmed logbook, it will not be possible to grant you credit.
