Complex education of choir singer. Training of prompt reading of choral parts, cultivated vocal expression and corresponding artistic rendition. Practical introduction to significant vocal or vocal instrumental works of Czech and world choral works. The specificity of the discipline lies in the simultaneous education of students of different grades, equipped with different degrees of musical skills and the degree of current solo singing or choral practice. Studying specific compositions allows to gain an overview of the choral vocal literature of a particular choral group and the principles of its interpretation.

First-year students will be divided into two choirs.

The female part will rehearse independently (choirmaster Mgr. Jana Veverková) on Tuesday 15.20-16.50 in C12. This choir is intended primarily for the less experienced. Other candidates from other fields can also join the choir. For more advanced singers, we recommend membership in the chamber choir. The students will print the sheet music sent in the e-mail attachment after logging in to the SIS and carry it for each exam. During the semester, they will memorize the assigned songs. Women's choir repertoire: K. B. Kopřiva: Salve Regina, A. Dvořák: Four Songs. If possible, other choral material of various periods and genres expanding the knowledge of the basic repertoire and developing the readiness to read choral parts.

The men from the first year will be members of a mixed choir led by doc. Marek Valášek. The mixed choir rehearses on Tuesday 15.20-16.50 in C1.

Performance of the mixed choir in the summer semester: 9. 4. at 4 p.m. Karolinum, 24. 4. at 7 p.m. Týn church, the dates of the two reprises are being prepared.

The specificity of the discipline lies in the current education of students of different years, equipped with different levels of musical skills and the degree of current solo singing or choral practice. The study of specific compositions makes it possible to obtain an overview of the choral literature of a certain choral grouping and the principles of its interpretation. The content of the course is active membership in one of the existing faculty bodies. Simultaneously with the education of the choir singer, the subject follows the individual experience with the interpretation of specific vocal works performed with the choir on various occasions. In addition to regular participation in rehearsals and proving mastery of the studied repertoire, a condition for credit is a written review of concerts of professional choirs, as well as participation in the organization of training and preparation of the accompanying text of the concert program.

The condition for credit is:

1. Knowledge of the partes, participation in concerts.

2. Written review of one choral concert. Students can attend a choirmaster bachelor or graduate concert of classmates, choir festival or competition.

3. Maximum 3 absences per semester.
