1. Students will gain the ability to lead and participate in a simple conversation in Czech on the A1 level according to the Common European Framework of References for Languages. 2. Students will gain the ability to lead doctor-patient dialogues, taking patient´s personal data and the basis of medical history, including basic medical vocabulary (parts of the body, organs, names of diseases, symptoms, basic medical examination instructions - in the Czech health system background). |

ATTENDANCE: There are 14 lessons a term and only 3 absences are allowed. The only excuse is a long-term illness, which must be confirmed by a doctor. In case of any absence a student is responsible for covering all the materials that were taught during the lesson he/she missed, which means that the student has to ask his/her classmates and copy from them all the handouts distributed in the lesson. The student can not expect that the teacher will give him/her any materials later. The teacher offers consultation hours for those students who attend classes, or for those who apologise for missing a class.
EARNING CREDIT: 1) GAINING at least 150 POINTS There will be 4 written tests during Czech classes, each test evaluated by 50 points. There will be an oral testing at the beginning of each class where students can get some points as well. Besides that there will be a project and a set of elective tasks. At the end of the term students need to gether 150 points in total not to sit for a written credit test. If they do not gain the required points, they have to pass a written credit test. The points gained in the oral testing will added to the score of the credit test. Pass mark is 75 %. 2) CONVERSATION Each student has to pass an oral part of the credit which is the conversation with a teacher on given topics. It will happen at the end of the term (for those who have already gained 150 points during the term) or during the exam period, after passing the written test.
RULES FOR TESTS IN SUMMER EXAMINATION PERIOD You can sit for any part of the summer credit after passing the winter one. Each student has to sign up for (or cancel) any written or oral test via SIS. You have 3 chances for the credit but only in the given dates, which means that if you come at the last date and you do not pass, there are not any other chances for you! The dates for getting the summer (both the written test and conversation) will be offered during the summer examination period. |

Communicative activities concerning both general language and medical vocabulary. Students´ projects presentations. 8. Lekce 19 – Kdo pracuje v nemocnici? Names of hospital departments and clinics. Names of doctor specializations. Names of diseases and examination methods. Grammar: Nouns, adjectives and pronouns in the genitive plural forms. 9. Lekce 20 – Zaměstnání Professions. Patient´s social and work medical history phrases. Time expressions (when, what time, how often, how many times, for how long). Questions of daily routine and habits. Grammar: Time expressions. 10. Lekce 21 – Životopis Curriculum vitae. Time expressions (since, from – till). Patient´s past medical history phrases. Grammar: Cardinal numerals in the genitive forms. Time expressions. 11. Lekce 22 – Co děláte rád/a Interest and hobbies. Lifestyle. Grammar: Expressing „to like“. Negative pronouns and adverbs. 12. Lekce 23 – Kolik je hodin? Saying the time.
