Předmět prohlubuje znalosti získané v předmětu Studia nových médií I a zaměřuje se na specifické diskurzy a
přístupy k novým médiím (cyberstudies, hypertextové teorie, teorie her, teorie software, digitální antropologie,
posthumanismus apod.). Poskytuje studentům prostor kriticky zkoumat vztah teorie nových médií k dalším
disciplínám, jako sociologie, antropologie, vizuální studia, informační a věda, kybernetika, UX/HCI, game studies
atd.
V rámci otázek týkajících se sociálních, kulturních, filozofických, politických a komerčních aspektů nových médií
budou studenti definovat a kriticky zkoumat podmínky, vývoj, koncepty a struktury, které definují konkrétní média a
technologie: Internet, mobilní technologie, wearables, imerzivní technologie apod. Cílem předmětu je podpořit
kritické myšlení a experimentování na poli teorie a praxe nových médií, a naučit studenty identifikovat a kriticky
hodnotit možnosti, limity a vlivy nových médií na další společenské systémy jako je vzdělávání, urbanismus nebo
občanská participace.

The course extends the knowledge gained in the course New Media Studies I and focuses on specific discourses and approaches to new media (cyberstudies, hypertext theory, game theory, theory of software, digital anthropology, posthumanismus etc.). It provides students an opportunity to critically examine the relationship of new media theory to other disciplines, such as sociology, anthropology, visual studies, information and science, cybernetics, UX / HCI, game studies etc.
