In this course the knowledge and skills gained in Phonetics and phonology are further developed and deepened. The main emphasis is placed on consolidating transcription skills and practising both perception and production of selected pronunciation features. Simultaneously, the course aims at introducing the framework for English pronunciation teaching.

intonation and its functions
comparison of General British and American accents on the segmental and suprasegmental level
English as a lingua franca and its influence on pronunciation teaching
effectiveness of pronunciation instruction
