While some of the tasks will be done individually, there might be a chance that students can work collaboratively as well. The individual tasks will allow students to learn and practice using a set of design principles, while the collaborative tasks will provide students the opportunity to apply these design principles in the creation of their own unique and meaningful spatial designs. At the end of the course, students should have a better understanding of the ‘laws’ of compositional organization, including strategies for organizing and devising cohesive and thought-provoking 3 Dimentional spaces. With a final project of developing their own unique 3-D world, this might be developed within IVR, or by using traditional and digital art-based media and materials of students’ choosing. This workshop is not for the faint-hearted as it will require each student to be able to work independently and autonomously and practice some of the additional tools and techniques necessary on their own time. Additionally, students might be asked to purchase some materials on their own. If a student wishes to work with digital media, they might need to download some relevant software as well. |

1) Actively attend at least six meetings. 2) Submitt portfolio. The student will prepare a portfolio consisting of records from each meeting. The record of the meeting includes a description and reflection of the art work and visual documentation of the creative proces and its outcomes. The portfolio may be submitted electronically or physically. The portfolio is a mirror of the student's experience and should serve as inspiration and methodological support for the student's future teaching work. |
