Cílem předmětu je rozvoj jazykových dovedností od úrovně B2 k úrovni C1 Společného evropského referenčního rámce pro jazyky. Kurz je cílen na efektivní rozšíření jazykových kompetencí studentů zpočátku na úroveň Advanced. Kurz rozvíjí praktické dovednosti v oblasti mluvního projevu, čtení s porozuměním, poslechu s porozuměním a písemného projevu.

The aim of the subject is to develop students' language skills from B2 level to C1 level (CEFR). The course is focused on effective language skills development towards the advanced level. The course develops mainly practical skills: speaking, reading, listening and writing.

1. Regular attendance - max 1 missed 90-minute lesson without any excuse.
2. Active participation in the seminars. An essay of 250 words written on a given topic at home and handed in by December 5th 2023. The use of AI is strictly prohibited and there is a zero plagiarism policy.
3. A minimal score of 70% on a final test that will take place during the last lesson of the semester. The test will cover the grammar and vocabulary of units 1 and 2 of the textbook and grammar and vocabulary from extra materials handed out over the course of the semester. There is one possible re-sit of the test. The dates of the re-sits will be arranged individually.
