Předmět poskytuje studentům hlubší porozumění genetickým základům dědičnosti a jejich aplikací v oblasti sportu a zdraví. Zahrnuje studium mechanismů, kterými genetická informace určuje fenomény jako jsou genetické mutace a polymorfismy a zkoumá, jak tyto genetické faktory ovlivňují složité fenotypové charakteristiky organismu, včetně tělesné zdatnosti a sportovního výkonu. Předmět představuje nejen teoretický základ populační genetiky, ale také předkládá nástroje pro hodnocení genetických vlivů na komplexní znaky spojené se zdravím a sportem či pohybovou aktivitou.
Studenty získávají nejen pevnou znalostní základnu, ale také schopnosti aplikovat genetické principy v praktických aspektech sportovního tréninku a pohybových aktivit orientovaných na zdraví. Kurz zahrnuje i výklad a kritickou analýzu současných komerčních genetických testů dostupných na trhu s důrazem na jejich relevanci a využití v praxi. Po úspěšném absolvování tohoto předmětu budou mít studenti pevný základ pro informované rozhodování a případné poradenství v oblasti genomiky v souvislostech s pohybovou aktivitou a životním stylem.

The subject gives students a deeper understanding of the genetic basis of heredity and its applications in sports and health. It includes the study of mechanisms by which genetic information determines phenomena such as genetic mutations and polymorphisms and examines how these genetic factors affect complex phenotypic characteristics of the organism, including physical fitness and athletic performance. The course presents the theoretical foundation of population genetics and provides tools for assessing genetic influences on complex traits associated with health and sports or physical activity.
Students acquire a solid knowledge base and the ability to apply genetic principles in practical aspects of sports training and health-oriented physical activities. The course includes an explanation and critical analysis of current commercial genetic tests available on the market, emphasising their relevance and practical use. Upon completing this subject, students will have a solid foundation for informed decision-making and potential counselling in the field of genomics in the context of physical activity and lifestyle.
