The aim of the course for Ph.D. students is to familiarize with the principles of functional stress diagnosis and its use in sports sciences and clinical fields, with technologies of diagnostic laboratories, with sources and types of stress, analyzers of physiological functions and methods of evaluation and interpretation of stress test results.
Knowledge:
The student acquires knowledge of the principles of functional stress diagnostics and its use in sports sciences and clinical fields, gets acquainted with the technologies of diagnostic laboratories, sources and types of stress, analyzers of physiological functions and methods of evaluating and interpreting the results of stress tests. He is familiar with the reactions of the human organism to load and with the adaptation processes taking place in the organism in connection with the training load. Gets information about the biological basis of physical fitness, adaptation to movement load and genetic conditioning of adaptation, is introduced to the manifestations of adaptation at the cellular level, the principles of energy metabolism and metabolic characteristics of load according to the intensity of metabolism and duration and the influence of the histochemical composition of skeletal muscle on the energetics of muscle work . The student will acquire knowledge about homeostatic, transport and regulatory mechanisms during movement load, about applications of physiological principles in training, about physiological aspects of loading in ontogeny and in specific population groups, about internal and external factors affecting individual performance and about the health significance of physical activity.
Skills:
The student will be able to define the basic principles of the physiology of body load and adaptation, apply knowledge of the physiology of body load and adaptation to training, use diagnostic procedures of the physiology of body load and evaluate the results achieved as prerequisites for fitness and sports performance, specify the differences in physiological reactions and adaptations in individual groups of the population, independently carry out and evaluate simple functional tests
Competence:
The student is competent to use the acquired knowledge of the physiology of body load and adaptations for their application and connection with subsequent subjects such as sports training and sports specialization, to use the acquired information in everyday practice and to apply knowledge of the physiology of body load and adaptations in training, to use diagnostic procedures of body physiology loads and evaluate the results achieved as prerequisites for fitness and sports performance, specify differences in physiological reactions and adaptations in individual population groups, independently perform and evaluate simple functional tests
