This subject without direct teaching tests the synthesis of students' literary and linguistic knowledge and their practical, analytical and discursive skills. The test consists of two independent parts - linguistic and literary. The linguistic essay is based on an excerpt from an authentic text which the students analyse according to given tasks. The literary part has the form of a reflection essay on a literary-theoretical, literary-cultural, or literary-didactic theme.
