The course is an introduction to health law. Against the background of Czech health law, its European and international context and comparison with foreign legal systems, the basic institutes and concepts of health law are introduced. The course enables students to acquire knowledge and skills that bring a relevant level of understanding of health law and at the same time build a knowledge foundation for other specialised subjects within the course.

The course concludes with a written exam combining 15-25 single-best answer (SBA) and open ended questions. A portion of points for active participation in class may be earned. The use of anyl printed legal regulations (such as statutes) during the exam is permitted.
