Te main aim of the course is to introduce the principles of contemporary psychosomatic medicine and the basic communication skills, which are necessary for the clinical practice (communication with patients in different clinical situations in different settings). The course includes an overview of current areas of knowledge, which is contemporary psychosomatic medicine based on (e.g., bio-psycho-social model, systemic theory, interpersonal neurobiology, medical psychology, psychotherapy research). The aim of such overview combined with interactive seminars is the enrichment of evolving medical students´mental representations of the patients´subjective experience, doctor-patient interactions, one´s own subjectivity and empathic attunement in clinical interactions with patients and their families. |
