Ischemic heart disease: etiology, risk factors, classification. Stable and unstable angina pectoris. Acute coronary syndrome. Chronic ischemic heart disease. Diagnosis, treatment, secondary prevention. Required knowledge: basics of anatomy and physiology of the heart and blood vessels.
Congenital and acquired heart defects: classification, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment. Required knowledge: basics of anatomy and physiology of the heart and blood vessels.
Heart rhythm disorders and conduction disorders: classification, most common supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias. Treatment options for arrhythmias. Basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Required knowledge: basics of anatomy and physiology of the heart and blood vessels.
Myocarditis, pericarditis: etiology, clinical manifestations, classification, treatment. Infectious endocarditis: causes, clinical course, treatment, prophylaxis. Required knowledge: basics of anatomy and physiology of the heart and blood vessels.

Hematology. Examination methods (medical history, physical examination, laboratory methods, sternal puncture, trepanobiopsy). Anemia: classification, clinical manifestations with regard to manifestations in the oral cavity, treatment. Required knowledge: basic knowledge of blood and blood elements from histology and physiology.
Bleeding disorders caused by disorders of the vascular wall, platelets, coagulation factors, fibrinolysis. Purpura. Disseminated intravascular coagulation. Hemophilia, von Willebrand disease. Bleeding disorders in diseases of other organs. Blood transfusion, complications. Required knowledge: basic knowledge of the physiology of hemocoagulation.
Hematopoietic disorders: myeloaplasia, myelodysplasia, myeloproliferation. Leukemia, lymphomas, plasma cell myeloma. Clinical picture of these diseases with emphasis on possible manifestations in the head, oral cavity, and throat, their diagnosis. Chemotherapy in hemato-oncology. Bone marrow and peripheral stem cell transplantation. Required knowledge: basic knowledge of blood and blood elements from histology and physiology.
