Characterization: This course is in the continuity of regular teachings in the field of ophthalmology for fourth-year
medical students. It focuses on greater detail regarding differential diagnostics of red eye, ocular traumatology,
benefits of modern examination techniques (OCT), use of biological treatment in the treatment of macular
diseases, and modern advancements in plastic surgery of ocular adnexa. The usual steps of ophthalmological
examination and use of basic examination techniques in a routine ophthalmological praxis (refraction
assessment, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy) will be demonstrated in concrete cases of patients.
