Rules on how to obtain the credit in Practical Microscopy in academic year 2013/14

  1. A 100% attendance of practical courses as well as good results of the continuously performed knowledge tests (only 2 excused absences are allowed).
  2. A successful completion of the slide test is required as well (see below).
  3. If the student has more than two unexcused absences or his/her continuous results are not satisfactory the teacher of the study group can re-examine him/her to meet the conditions.
  4. Re-examinations take place during the practical course in the 15th week of the summer semester. After a mutual agreement with the teacher the term can be arranged during the whole 15th week with regards to lack of capacity and time.
  5. If the student fails to get the credit towards the end of the summer semester he/she can fix up a term of re-examination in the summer exam period. The precise term is determined by the teacher and it is binding for both sides.
  6. If the conditions 2 or 3 are not met before the end of summer exam period (i.e. before June 27, 2014), the teacher will record the "K = no credit" in the Student Information System.
  7. Exceptions to the rules are possible only in case of e.g. documented illness. The Head of the Institute can give permission to fulfill conditions 2 and 3 after June 27, 2014 upon a written application. This is not possible if the student failed to pass the credit test repeatedly within the regular term.
  8. Credit in Practical Microscopy is necessary for admission to the exam in Anatomy.

Test in practical slide identification-slide test

  1. The test takes place in the 14th week of the summer semester in the frames of practical lesson. The student takes it only with his or her group. Any absence must be excused and the test can be passed in an alternative term (just like in the case of the test repetition).
  2. The test is based on the identification of 3 slides and the used staining methods and to draw an outline of the slide with description of the structures within the time-limit. The knowledge of all the slides studied in courses of Practical Microscopy from the 1st through the 13th week is required.
  3. It is necessary to identify and describe correctly 2 of 3 slides at least. Results will be announced in the 15th week of the summer semester at the latest.
  4. It is possible to repeat the test only twice. If the student fails even in the third term the teacher will record the "K = no credit" in the Student Information System.
  5. The nearest alternative term comes during the practical course of the group in the 15th week of the summer semester. Other alternative term is possible only after a mutual agreement with the teacher.
  6. Repetition is also possible during the summer exam period. The term of the test is given by the teacher after an agreement with the student where the choice between at least two terms is offered. The agreed term is obligatory for both sides.
