let 20. století. Přednášky jsou věnovány vybraným kapitolám tohoto vývoje, student zároveň sám studuje literární historii z doporučených textů. Přednášky dále pokrývají recepci americké literatury v české kultuře, uvažují o místu překladové literatury v cílové kultuře. V seminářích je věnován prostor především překladatelské interpretaci vybraných textů za použití základních metod literárně teoretické analýzy kombinujících několik soudobých literárně teoretických přístupů se strukturalistickými východisky. Podmínkou atestace je aktivní účast v seminárních diskusích a prokázaná příprava na ně (zadaná četba), dále písemná zkouška, která se skládá z anglicky psané eseje na jedno ze zadaných témat a krátkých "identifikačních" odpovědí na několik otázek. Kurz je vyučován v angličtině. An overview course in the literature of the USA. The course is taugh in English. Credit requirements: Attendance (75%) and participation in the course. Students are expected to come prepared to the seminar, to have read texts assigned for single class discussions (and bring the texts to the class). They might be asked to submit one or two written assignments. The exam (written in the school) consists of two parts: an essay and a test. The essay will be on one of the topics assigned by the teacher, in the test students answer so called identification questions that draw upon the topics covered by the course and obligatory readings (see the reading list updated for 2012/13 plus the syllabus on the intranet pages of the Institute of Translation Studies). |
