Tento úvodní kurz do lingvistické pragmatiky se zabývá hlavními tématy a teoriemi, které jsou základem studia fungování jazyka v kontextu. <br>
Studenti porozumí klíčovým pojmům, jako je deixe, řečové akty, presupozice, kooperační princip, konverzační maximy, implikatury a zdvořilost. Kurz rovněž seznámí studenty se současnými studiemi zkoumajícími různá témata v rámci pragmatiky.<br>

This introductory course in linguistic pragmatics explores the central topics and theories that underlie the study of how language functions in context. Students will gain an understanding of key concepts such as deixis, speech acts, presupposition, the Cooperative Principle, maxims of conversation, implicatures, and politeness. The course will also acquaint students with contemporary studies exploring topics within pragmatics. <br>

Předmět je vyučován v anglickém jazyce.

Podmínkami pro získání zápočtu jsou:

1. Úvod – vymezení pojmu pragmatika, rozdíl mezi sémantikou a pragmatikou, složky významu podle Thomasové (1995).
2. Kontext a význam – druhy kontextu, relevance kontextu pro interpretaci/produkci výpovědí.
3. Deixe – druhy deixe a její role v komunikaci.
4. Teorie řečových aktů – Austin (lokuce, ilokuce, perlokuce), Searle (klasifikace řečových aktů), způsoby hodnocení jejich úspěšnosti.
5. Konvenční implicitní význam – presupozice, logické vyplývání (entailment), konvenční implikatury, jejich charakteristiky a testy.
6. Nekonvenční implicitní význam I – Griceův kooperační princip, typy konverzačních maxim, rozdíly mezi konvenční a konverzační implikaturou.
7. Nekonvenční implicitní význam II – konverzační maximy a vznik implikatury, hedging.
8. Nekonvenční implicitní význam III – způsoby porušování maxim, kritika Griceova přístupu.
9. Pozdější přístupy k implikatuře – Horn (Q- a R-principy), Levinson (Q-, I-, M-principy), úvod do Teorie relevance (Sperber & Wilson).
