Diplomový seminář připravuje studenty na vypracování vlastní diplomové práce. Studenti získají poradenství, jak formulovat výzkumnou otázku a vypracovat popis projektu pro svou diplomovou práci. Získá přehled o nástrojích pro shromažďování informací a literatury a poskytne zkušenosti s technikami akademického psaní.
V diplomové práci musí student prokázat schopnost samostatné práce v souladu s akademickými standardy, znalost a porozumění příslušné odborné literatuře a schopnost analyzovat studovanou problematiku.

The Diploma Seminar prepares students for developing their own diploma thesis. The students will receive counseling in how to formulate a research question and develop a project description for their diploma thesis. They will receive insights in tools for gathering information and literature, and gives experience with academic writing techniques.
In the diploma thesis the student must demonstrate the ability to work independently in keeping with academic standards, a knowledge and understanding of the relevant scholarly literature and the ability to analyze the issue under study.
Diploma Seminar II is normally enrolled in the LS of the second year of study or as the last course in subsequent years, when students complete data collection and work on the final version of their theses. The student submits the various developed parts of the thesis and concludes the seminar when the thesis is close to being submitted for defense. In the last stages of the seminar, the finished parts of the thesis are already discussed, the methodology is tested and the conclusions of the thesis are already evident.

Active participation in the course and delivery of all assignments, i.e. parts of the diploma thesis. The student is evaluated for two submissions. The first is in the middle of the course. Students submit a paper that is a pilot test of their methodology. They submit data that shows how their methodology and analytical tools work. The discussion then includes any adjustments to the methodology and analytical tools. The second submission is at the end of the semester. They submit a substantial portion of the thesis, from which it is clear that it will be completed and, in all likelihood, successfully defended. Successful completion of the seminar ends with credit.
