Kurs pro středně pokročilé studenty, který celkově prohlubuje jazykovou kompetenci v angličtině. Cílem kursu je upevňovat již získané gramatické návyky a tematicky rozvíjet slovní zásobu z nejrůznějších oblastí. Důraz je kladen především na přesnost vyjadřování, rozvíjení schopnosti rozumět slyšenému textu i na postupné osvojování celkové gramatické struktury angličtiny. Student má možnost se zapsat do kurzu opakovaně během studia, protože obsah kurzu se mění.

Témata:
1) Reading: A literary extract- skim reading; scanning. Expressions in context. Speaking: Stimulus-based discussion.
2) Grammar: Present tense forms. Writing: Choosing the right tense. Speaking: Telling a story - stimulus-based discussion.
3) Listening: Top-down listening skills. Speaking: Descriptions, uses of phrasal verbs
4) Writing: using factual information. Short story: sequencing of tenses. Reading: a short story, ordering paragraphs.
5) Grammar: Narrative tenses. Reading: words and meanings; questions, multiple choice. Speaking: Giving an account.
6) Grammar: Text linking elements. Speaking: compound sentences, fluency of oral performance.
7) Integrated practice.
8) Grammar: reported speech - forms and use. Listening: Dialogues. Speaking: Stimulus-based discussion, negotiating.
9) Writing: Formal expressions in context, prepositional phrases. 
10) Grammar: Compound and complex sentences. Conjunctions.
11) Listening: Idioms in context; word stress. Listening to narratives. Reading: Phrasal verbs in context.
12) Listening: Taking notes; ordering information. Speaking: Stimulus based discussion, presenting/justifying opinions.
13) Integrated practice.
