Theoretical part introduces students to history and current state of sport climbing and mountaineering. It provides elementary knowledge about materials and equipment. It outlines the use of climbing activities at schools and rehabilitation programmes. Practical part is based on rope techniques and climbing movement development. Teaching is undertaken in commercial gym "SC Evropská" and students are required to pay a fee 300 CZK per semester. All equipment (climbing shoes, harness, ropes, chalk) will be provided to students.

Classwork contents:

1. Climbing and belaying (top rope position), safety in climbing, basic commands.

1. Climbing technique - foot placement, knots.

2. Climbing technique - shoulder and grip positionning.

3. Belaying devices for top rope climbing.

4. Bouldering.

5. Belaying of the leader.

6. Fall in climbing. Individual practice.

7. Lead climbing - practice.
