The subject gives a comprehensive knowledge overview from the field of upbringing and education of individuals with different forms of disadvantage. Furthet, the subject presents to students the history of special pedagogy and also with current conception of this subject. The subject also introduces students with particular target groups of different branches of special pedagogy, while the main focus lies in the field of somathopedy and in the concrete special pedagogical methods and approaches. The content of lectures creates also current problems of an education of pupils with health henadicap, health and social disadvantage and special educational needs, where there will be also introduced new methods and trends of upbringing and education of above mentioned groups as well as attitudes of a major society.

After completing the course, students should understand the importance, the position and the benefit of pedagogy as well as of its subfields in contemporary society. Students should be also able to distinguish the issues of particular subfields of special pedagogy as well as to understand to their mutual interconnectedness. Students shloud also understand to basics of a diagnostics in a special pedagogical praxis. Next to higher-mantioned facts students shloud be able to apply special pedagogical knowledges in their future physiotherapeutical praxis.

Specific expected outcomes:

- student understands the importance of a special pedagogy as well as of its subfields (psychopedy, ethopedy, somathopedy, surdopedy, ophtalmopedy, logopedy etc.) for present as well as for future society

- student knows attitudes and approach of a majority towards individuals with special educational needs in a contemporaneity as well as in a history

- student knows principles as well as main methods of a special-pedagogical diagnostics

- student orients himself/herself in a diagnostical process in the sphere of a special pedagogy

- student understands the importance of a sport and other physical activities for an individual with special educational needs

- student know the terminology of a special pedagogy and uses it actively and purposefully

- student identifies problems, which can occur id the process of a care about people with special educational needs

- student is able to comment critically towards current social issues from the special pedagogical point of view

- student is able to apply main pedagogical and didactic pinciples in the process of a care about people with spceial educational needs

- student is able to modify his/her approach with regard to a specific handicap or need of an individual

- student communicates by a suitable way in the process of a care about people with special educational needs
