The course is focused on getting acquainted with the principles of scientific work and the principles of research efforts, in the context of modern scientific knowledge. Students will be acquainted with the principles of writing final theses, but also with the possibilities of choosing the topic of these theses. The content of the course is also acquaintance with the requirements for the formal and content structure of the work, as well as acquaintance with the practices of suitable literary research for the thesis. Students will also be introduced to the issues of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including the introduction of more sophisticated methods for implementation in the thesis

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• design a research topic and select a suitable supervisor for the topic,

• search for suitable sources and literature for the selected topic,

• conduct an erudite search of methods suitable for solving the selected topic,

• discuss ethical aspects of the final thesis in the broader context of science,

• explain the differences between bachelor's and master's theses in the context of scientific knowledge,

• explain the differences between qualitative, quantitative and mixed research approaches,

• work with formal and content requirements that are placed on the final thesis.

1. Diploma thesis and its difference from bachelor's thesis. Selection of the thesis topic, characteristics of the research plan, selection of the thesis supervisor. Methodology of science.

2. Requirements and structure of diploma thesis, content and form of diploma thesis, theoretical and theoretical-empirical work, citations and citation standards.

3. Citation and citation norms, plagiarism, research ethics, structure of diploma thesis introduction. Work with text and literature.

4. Determining the research goal, research set and introduction to research methods. Literary research for diploma theses.

5. Quantitative approach to research (advanced methods).

6. Qualitative approach to research (advanced methods).

7. Interpretation of data, processing of discussion and conclusion of diploma thesis.
