The course is accredited by University Pompeu Fabra Barcelona. Course leaders: Prof. José Luis Pérez Triviño (University Pompeu Fabra Barcelona), Prof Alberto Carrio Sampedro (University Pompeu Fabra Barcelona). This module provides a comprehensive view of the main current topics on law, ethics and integrity of Sport Governance. Sport Governance has become one of the most important topics in Sport after several scandals relating with corruption, match fixing, doping and lack of democratization of Sport Governance Bodies. The module is structured in two complementary parts consisting each on them in seven different units. The first part of the module is focused in legitimacy requirements of SGBs providing a com-plex standard for sport good governance. This part of the module provides as well a systematic approach to the Olympic Movement and its normative scope as well as a basic introduction to the Law and Ethics of Sport. The second part of the module goes deeper in good governance principles and current conflict resolution mechanism. Finally this second part analyzes the athletes’ basic rights and provides a legal and ethical approach to some relevant topics such as sport violence and sport competition spoiling This module helps students to develop analytical competences related to ethics, laws and integrity in sport as well as to apply these competences to practical matters in Sport. At the end of this module students students should have acquired the ability to understand and discuss in a complex conceptual background as well as have developed the necessary skills to face current problems and challenges of Sport Governance.
