The course gives knowledge of existence and activities of public administration, its position and role in the society. The attention is also paid to increasing bureaucratization, its positive and negative impacts not only on public administration, but on sport as societal phenomenon too. On the basis of theoretical knowledge of public policy, realized by public administration at the level of state, regions, and municipalities, there is explained how the sport is governed in the context of social and politic development during the latest years. The organizational and legislative aspects of public sport governance in the Czech Republic are discussed, including the cooperation with the third sector. Students are stimulated to seek after topical issues of public sport policy and via their analysing to better understand the reality.
