The subject is intended for the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the technique of reflexology massage. The teaching is aimed both at practicing diagnostic procedures in relation to reflex changes of the locomotor system, and at practical training of therapeutic procedures used in this technique.

Learning Outcomes:


The aim of the course is to equip the student with such knowledge, skills and general abilities that after graduation:

- demonstrates knowledge of neurophysiology and neuropathology

- demonstrates theoretical knowledge of the principles of reflexology and the theory of reflexology massages

- demonstrates the ability to examine and diagnose reflex manifestations of the locomotor system

- demonstrates the ability to perform individual techniques for influencing soft tissues and reflexology massages

- demonstrates the ability to apply and evaluate the effect of individual reflexology massage techniques in patients with various diagnoses

- demonstrates knowledge of the indications and contraindications of reflexology massages in patients

A practical demonstration of the ability to examine and diagnose reflex manifestations in the musculoskeletal system and the implementation of individual soft tissue techniques and reflex massages.

 

Exam Requirements:

Written verification of theoretical knowledge of the principles of reflexology and the theory of reflexology massages, knowledge of indications and contraindications of reflexology massages in patients.

1. Origins and development od reflex changes. Explanation of basic terms.

2. Reflex massage and its influence on the musculoskeletal system Reflex projection of internal organs.

3. Diagnostics of the changes in soft tissues.

4. Practical application of soft tissue techniques on the skin and connective tissue.

5. Practical application of soft tissue techniques on the muscle, periost and scar.

6. Indication and contraindications of the RM, practical application of segmental RM methods in internal organ and system diseases.

7. Segmental RM methods (basic touches).

8. Segmental RM methods (basic touches).

9 Connective tissue massage, friction massage ,RM methods on the periost.

10. Segmental RM methods (configurations on the trunk).

11. Segmental RM methods (configurations on the extremities).
