The subject of the course is the concept of diagnostics and therapy of functional disorders of the locomotor system according to Brügger. Object builds on the subject "Therapy of Postural Disorders - Brügger Concept I" and deepens the basic knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to the Brügger concept. Learning outcomes of the course unit therapeutic skills with respect to the upper and lower limbs, as well as comprehensive examination and therapy in the of selected diagnoses from concept perspective.

Learning Outcomes:

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and general competencies so that after the completion of the course the students:

  • demonstrate skills in the application of diagnostic and treatment procedures according to Brügger with the main focus on the upper and lower limbs
  • demonstrate skills in a comprehensive assessment of the patient according to Brügger's concept

1. Hip joint and rod mechanism of lower limbs

2. Correction in sitting position and adjustment of axes of lower limbs

3. Muscle loops, functional aspects of hip and knee joint

4. Basic therapeutic procedures with respect to the hip joint

5. Basic therapeutic procedures with regard to the knee and ankle joint

6. Application of retrocapillary support (polycushion) of the foot

7. Movement pattern and muscle loops of upper limbs

8. Therapeutic procedures with regard to shoulder joint and shoulder blade
